As my mom said when we were talking over lunch a few days ago, I count my age every New Year, not necessarily by my birthday. So, that makes 2009 my last teenage year. Yes, you heard it right. 2009 is my LAST teenage year. I guess that makes me officially "no longer a kid" by tomorrow. It sucks. It really does. But, I guess it's about time that I put some direction into this pretty much screwed-up life I'm living.
After listening to the Brewrats last night, I got the idea to think about the highlights of 2009 for me. Let me look back at the sorts of shit that I've done and that have happened during my last teenage year. Of course, not all of them are piles of shit. There's also the usual silver lining behind the clouds.
- February 2009 - My laptop got hijacked. (LOL.)
- March 2009 - Got a new laptop. :)
- May 2009 - First time that I got a line of 1 grade in a major subject.
- September 2009 (more specifically, September 5, 2009)
- November 2009 - LU Live!
Another one is, my aunt passed away last November. It was the first death on my father's side of the family. It's sad, but we must go on with living for her sake.
And that about wraps up my 2009, my last teenage year. Of course, there's a lot of stuff that has happened in-between those that I mentioned, but they're usual occurrences in each person's lives.
And, of course, I'll go along with the bandwagon, and make my own list of New Year's resolutions. More like, the things I need to do now that I'm no longer a kid.
- Set my priorities straight. It's only a matter of time before society puts the pressure on me, better be ready while there's still time.
- Learn to trust THAT person. (oo, ikaw. ikaw ang tinutukoy ko. XD) Most of the problems that we had are caused by my frantically running around head. It's not good. Makes me feel bad inside and vomit. So, yeah. I don't want to hurt you anymore. :)
- Be more responsible in attending classes. No more lates.(125 && 128. T_T) Lessen absences.
- Be more peaceful. Only wage war on people when there's a reason to. :)
- No more cramming deadlines! (Yeah, I know this one's impossible, but let's put it in the list for formality.)
- Act more like my age. Since I'm running out of time, I can't afford to be running around randomly now, can't I?
And with that, a Happy New Year to everyone! And also, to my batchmates(born on the same year people), let's make the best of our first year as non-teenagers. Kudos!
